Utah’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program provides assistance to small businesses through training, counseling and access to resources.
Ninety-five percent of clients surveyed said Utah SBDC services are beneficial. In 2011, the Utah SBDC network spent more than 16,000 hours providing one-on-one counseling to nearly 3,000 clients. No other resource fills the need for services provided by the Utah SBDC network.
At any of our 15 locations, hosted by Utah’s colleges and universities, small business owners can come for help and counseling on topics ranging from financing and budgets to research assistance and business plans. The SBDC is also a vital link for people seeking highly specialized services from other Utah organizations such as the UBiDS, Utah MEP, USTAR and more. In regions with a Business Resource Center, SBDC’s are a critical component of small business services.
As you look at budgets for the upcoming year, we encourage you to review the 2011 Utah SBDC network success stories included in this booklet, and consider the valuable contributions we provide to your communities.
As a team of committed small business advocates, we extend our appreciation for your ongoing advocacy of the Utah Small Business Development Center network.
Sincerely,
Sherm Wilkinson,
SBDC State Director
