Carlos Linares is the Regional Director for the Salt Lake Small Business Development Center, offering comprehensive business counseling, entrepreneurial education, and business development services. As a seasoned entrepreneur, Linares is considered a leader for industry, educational, governmental, and non-profit advising in the areas of organizational management, business development, community affairs and strategic marketing.
Linares has been cited in several major media outlets including CNN, Fox News, BBC, NPR, Univision, Telemundo, Utah CEO Magazine, and Utah Business Magazine.
Linares has owned several businesses including Linares Consulting Group, Inc., providing executive coaching and strategic marketing consulting. Linares led a successful corporate career in a private banking division, and was the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where he was named among the “20 Most Influential Hispanic Business Leaders in Utah.”
Linares received his baccalaureate in International Business and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Westminster College, where he currently serves as an adjunct professor for coursework in international marketing and strategy in global management. Linares is actively involved in community affairs and serves on a number of business, education, government, and philanthropic boards.
Lowell Baggaley joined the Salt Lake City Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in October of 2006 as a Senior Consultant. Prior to joining the SBDC, Baggaley served as the President and CEO of Vamcu Federal Credit Union for twenty years. Baggaley received his MBA degree from the University of Utah in 1969 and began his career with Zions First National Bank in their commercial loan department. After working for Zions First National Bank, Baggaley became the Vice President for the Utah Telephone Credit Union (UTELCU), where he headed the lending and operations departments. Subsequently, Baggaley became president of UTELCU and served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Utah League of Credit Unions. Baggaley has a bachelor’s degree in Finance and his MBA includes an emphasis in Finance and Economics. Baggaley and his wife Ellen enjoy music, sports, theater and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
